The United States Federal Government has made public an extensive collection of declassified records pertaining to numerous encounters with “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena” (UAPs), previously often referred to as Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). This disclosure includes photographic evidence, video footage, and accounts of unexplained aerial and extraterrestrial events.
These released documents meticulously outline “unresolved incidents” for which official agencies have been unable to provide a conclusive identification of the observed phenomena’s nature.
From my perspective as an individual deeply engaged in the study of military strategy, national security, and the evolution of armaments and technological capabilities, several documented UAP cases present particularly compelling aspects, both in what they illuminate and the quandaries they introduce.
When considered in conjunction with other reports that have surfaced in recent years, a nascent understanding of the potential origins of UAPs, along with the current limits of our comprehension, begins to take shape.
It is important to note that not every instance within this recent documentation appears to defy conventional explanation.
Certain visual records, such as those that seem to depict unidentified luminous sources captured by astronauts during their time on the lunar surface, are highly likely to be attributable to optical aberrations or other imaging artifacts.

Additionally, astronauts have historically reported visual observations of brilliant lights without the aid of instruments. These could potentially be fleeting emissions caused by high-energy cosmic rays, which are known to be more prevalent beyond Earth’s sheltering magnetosphere.
Similarly, video captures showcasing swift-moving luminous points might be explained by the proximity of insects to the camera lens; being out of focus, they could appear to traverse significant distances at high velocities.
However, a subset of these occurrences presents significant challenges to immediate dismissal. Emerging examples strongly indicate that a genuine phenomenon is unfolding, even if its definitive nature remains elusive.
In the year 2020, the U.S. Navy released authenticated footage from F/A-18 Super Hornet sorties, depicting enigmatic “Tic Tac” shaped objects exhibiting flight characteristics that transcend current technological paradigms and lack any discernible means of propulsion.
The U.S. Navy officially stated their inability to ascertain the identity of these observed entities.
The detection and tracking of these phenomena by sophisticated sensor arrays aboard advanced military aircraft suggest they represent tangible objects rather than equipment malfunctions or spurious data.

One of the most compelling recordings was presented during a U.S. congressional briefing in 2025. This footage appeared to originate from an MQ-9 Reaper drone that was actively tracking a UAP.
The drone deployed a Hellfire missile against the object, and the impact seemingly registered.
The object momentarily deviated from its trajectory, indicating physical interaction, yet it appeared to sustain no damage and continued its course unimpeded.
Throughout the past decade, numerous reports have emerged detailing the presence of unidentified formations of UAPs in the vicinity of both American and European military installations.
In several documented instances, U.S. Navy Destroyers have reportedly encountered formations of enigmatic “drone swarms.”
While these could potentially be conventional unmanned aerial vehicles, the absence of any nearby launch platforms capable of supporting such short-range craft raises questions about their operational deployment.
Furthermore, it is known that in 2023, the United States utilized an F-22 fighter jet to neutralize a high-altitude Chinese surveillance balloon that was traversing the continental U.S. airspace.
A similar event transpired over Hawaii during the same year; however, official reports indicated that this object was not attributed to Chinese origin.
Also in 2023, U.S. forces engaged multiple other unidentified objects over North American territory. Both the U.S. and Canadian authorities have declined to provide any specific details regarding the nature of these entities.
So, what precisely are these observed objects?

There is no straightforward explanation that universally accounts for these incidents.
Some readily propose the involvement of non-human intelligences. Nevertheless, concrete evidence supporting such a hypothesis is absent. While contemplating extraterrestrial or interdimensional visitors may be an engaging prospect, it does not constitute a satisfactory resolution to the UAP inquiry.
Perhaps the most plausible explanation currently available involves advanced drones or other recognized technological systems. However, this perspective remains incomplete, as certain observed phenomena appear to exceed current technological benchmarks, leaving the question of the operators’ identities unanswered.
Emerging technologies could be a contributing factor. It is conceivable that these systems are being operated by “friendly” entities – either within the U.S. military or by allied defense contractors – who are conducting field tests against unsuspecting military personnel to gauge their responses. Concurrently, these incidents might represent clandestine testing activities undertaken by adversaries, such as China.
Yet, even with these possibilities, certain encounters remain difficult to reconcile with our current understanding of physics.
The object documented in the “Tic Tac” videos exhibits behavior that deviates from the expected flight dynamics of any known aircraft, notably showing no indications of propulsion systems.
Alternatively, some UAPs could simply be the result of sensor system malfunctions. However, this explanation also appears insufficient, given the numerous instances where fighter jets and naval vessels have detected these objects using multiple sensors operating on disparate frequencies, employing both active and passive detection methods.
If not extraterrestrial, then what?
The most recent release of documents by the United States offers little in the way of definitive answers regarding the nature of UAPs.
This persistent lack of definitive explanation is, in itself, perhaps the most compelling aspect.
Considering the broad spectrum of documented cases, it is highly improbable that a single overarching explanation will be found to encompass them all. While some instances are strongly suggestive of drones or mere optical artifacts, a distinct category of genuinely perplexing phenomena undeniably exists.
Among the array of proposed explanations, the notion of non-human intelligence stands out as the most entertaining, yet simultaneously the least statistically probable.
It is considerably more likely that the underlying causes of these observed events will ultimately be attributed to terrestrial origins.
What does appear evident is that governmental bodies are observing these developments with heightened vigilance and considerable apprehension.
